Christ Church Kids and Youth

At Christ Church, we want to provide a place where infants through grade 5 can learn about Jesus, experience His love and learn how to live like Him in their families and neighborhoods.

To learn more about our youth program for grades 6-12, read below or email youth@christchurcheastbay.org.

Sunday Services

All three worship locations—Berkeley, Oakland and Lafayette—provide during-worship childcare/programming for children from infancy through grade five.

  • Children preschool and up usually enter Sunday service with their parents, then are dismissed part way through to lessons in their age group.
  • Children kindergarten through grade 5 return to their parents toward the end of the service to be present for communion.
  • Children kindergarten through grade 5 stay in the entire service the first Sunday of every month for Family Worship Sunday.

Curriculum and Activities

CCKids provides age-appropriate, multi-sensory Bible lessons and activities.

CCKids Vision Wheel
  • Depending on age and stage, lessons may include songs, a craft, scripture memory, a Bible story and discussion, and play.
  • Recent series have covered stories through the Bible and Gospel lessons.
  • Music is regularly introduced with opportunities to sing in church services.
  • Youth and adults share their faith stories and current occupations.
  • Regular service opportunities are available.
  • Participation in Family Worship Sunday services is encouraged through reading scripture, helping with greeting people and taking the offering.

We value your children’s safety and health at Christ Church.

  • We use an online system to sign your kids in, and provide parents with a sticker. You will need to safely sign your child back out.
  • For their protection, we release children to their parents only, not to siblings or friends.
  • Background checks are conducted on all staff and volunteers.

If you’re visiting for the first time, try to arrive 15 minutes early to register your kids before the service and provide any important allergy or health information.

Middle and high school students meet regularly for mentoring, social events, service projects, and retreats. Parents of youth meet several times a year.

For more information, contact youth@christchurcheastbay.org or talk to the pastor at your location - Patrick (Berkeley & Oakland), Bart (Lafayette).

Support for parents

In addition to caring for our children well, we at Christ Church also want to help parents learn about raising kids, get support to love their families well, and be challenged to be the best parents they can. Support for parents include:

All parents should join our Online Community Network (OCN). Make sure to join the CCKids or Middle and High School Parents Group. This is the best way to see resources and learn more about our ministry.
